Heritage Day and Carnival Celebration
On 25 February 2025, we held a Heritage Day at Bánffy Castle in Bonțida. Our visitors were children from the Kallós Zoltán Foundation’s Diaspora College in Răscruci, 2nd to 4th-grade pupils of the Răscruci Professional School, who spent an eventful day at the castle, discovering the place and its heritage values through a treasure hunt.
The children also had the opportunity to learn Renaissance dances, and in a workshop led by Eszter László from of the Transylvanian Heritage House Foundation, they were introduced to the customs and delicacies specific to the carnival period.
Through visiting the “Miklós Bánffy’s Force Fields” and ”Lost&Found” exhibitions, as well as an interactive presentation of the castle, the programme provided a good opportunity for the children to learn about the castle’s past and the history of the region.
The event was supported by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, Committee for Hungarikums.
