Activities / Story Telling Day at Bánffy Castle in Bonţida
At 21/22 May 2010 the Transylvania Trust Foundation organized a story telling day, named From Henţida to Bonţida, for Cluj County’s children at Bánffy Castle, Bonţida. 150 children were interested in several puppet-plays in Hungarian and Romanian languages. They viewed the spectacle of Puck and Keljfeljancsi Puppet-Theatre from Cluj familiarizing them with the tale of the brave tailor, the adventures of János Vitéz, and the legend of King Mathia Corvin meeting the judge of Cluj. Near the professional story tellers – Dana Bonţidean, actress of the Puck Theater from Cluj and Szabó Anna, fabulator from Gheorgheni, the children could listen to locale legends narrated by Bánfi Géza and folk-tales performed by the young Markó Botond who was the winner of the story telling competition organized by Television Duna, Hungary in 2009. The participants were presented with traditional tales from different cultures, in their wonder-world, and were also able to actively participate through acting roles in an interactive puppet-play in Romanian.
