We bid farewell to architect Sándor Benczédi, historic building conservation expert and founding member, as well as Vice President of the Transylvania Trust Foundation. His vast knowledge, his respect for historic buildings and his thorough work for their protection inspired us all. Among others, we are indebted to him for the restoration of the Hill Church in Sighișoara, which received a Europa Nostra Award, and we are grateful for his decades-long contribution in organising and implementing the Tusnad conference series on historic building conservation, as well as the Cluj postgraduate programme on the conservation and rehabilitation of built heritage.
Our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family, may he rest in peace.
