The Fate of the Bánffy Castle in Bonțida during the Communist Regime in Romania

The publication follows the fate of the Bánffy Castle in Bonțida during the communist regime in Romania, which may be reconstructed based on the vast correspondence held by the Cluj and Gherla People’s Councils with the Directorate of Historical Monuments from 1940 to 1986, claiming urgent reparation and conservation works. Unfortunately, these were always delayed for various reasons and eventually dropped, which led to the degradation of one of the most important Transylvanian historical monuments.
